The journey begins...

Back in January, I had my 'ah-ha' moment in which I finally decided what I was going to be when I grew up. In this moment, I realized that all I have experienced personally as well as professionally was setting me up for this next step.  The step which I believe is bringing it all together and is finally letting me live my best life.

Fast forward a few months, about six weeks ago to be exact, my best friend called me and asked if she could be my first client.  She has always been one of my biggest supporters and she was in a place in her life in which she was wanting to put more focus on herself.  I thought this was the perfect partnership because we are very honest with each other and I knew as her coach I would get as much from her as she would get from me.  As I thought more about it in order to truly launch my own wellness business I needed to run a true pilot program and needed at least four additional clients.  Reaching out to family, friends, and people I hadn't met before we begin the first 90 day challenge on April 1st, seven people were ready to rock-n-roll in order to change their mind, body and soul.  With every yes from people there was a realization I was truly in the right place at the right time.  I believe that what you put out there is what you get back and when you find what it is that you are passionate about things just begin happening.  Positive thoughts and positive interactions have a true impact on your life and what happens in it.

We are now six weeks into the first 90 day challenge and the women I am working with are amazing and inspiring me daily as I help them navigate through their journey.  We began the challenge focused on the body because body image is a battle most women fight at some point in their lives and can impact other areas of their lives if it is not positive. My seven clients are all very different.  I have some that are just looking to maintain and improve their lean muscle mass to women who are looking to lose significant weight.  Although the body has been the main focus, we still set goals in all three categories (mind, body and soul) each week.  In the beginning each one of us set 90 day goals in these three areas but in order to feel success along the way we also set smaller weekly goals.  We started with goals that we knew we could achieve fairly easily and now six weeks in we are moving to more challenging goals each week to continue to push ourselves.  I say WE because I am just as much a part of this challenge as I am the coach.  I believe that we are all continuous works in progress and when we stop finding places that we need to improve then we aren't really living our best lives.  As people we can continuously grow, change and improve.

Now into our second month, we are focusing on the mind.  As women our body image often takes control of our minds and ultimately at times how we approach our days.  If we take a look at ourselves on the way out the door for the day and feel good about how we are looking then we generally have a great day, one where we feel we can take on the world.  However, if we leave for the day and we are uncomfortable, having a bad hair day, our makeup doesn't cover up the bags under our eyes or that zit that popped up overnight then our days tend to be a bit more challenging.  However, what if we could find a way to change our mindset so that way even when we have bad hair days or can't seem to find anything to wear in our closet our days still go pretty well and we end on a positive note?  What would your day look like if you really did look in the mirror and instead of beating yourself up before you even have that first cup of coffee, you look at yourself and gave yourself praise for the day ahead of you and all that you know you will accomplish?  I believe we can get to this place if we just start to focus on being positive with ourselves and make a conscious effort to change how we treat ourselves.  If we really lived by the 'treat others the way you wish to be treated' we surely wouldn't say those awful things to ourselves.  This month we will really look into our minds, the things we say to ourselves and begin to re-wire our brains so that we can change our mindsets to ones that promote the empowered lives that we want to live.

I believe that woman hold so much power in this world and yet few truly harness it.  We make excuses or apologize for not living in ways that we really want to in order to have the impact we wish to have on ourselves and others.  We don't want people to think that we are that one that has it all or the one that doesn't spend enough time with her family or the one that has always just been too caught up in herself which keeps us from achieving the next level.  As women we tend to 'fight' against each other, especially when it comes to success, whatever that success might be...weight loss, jobs, marriage, friendships, positive self-image, etc.  What if instead we created networks of women who help push each other and who truly cheer each other on when others experience success? Through my coaching and my 90 day challenges, I will create these networks that gather women and their children, to educate us all on how we can truly empower ourselves and others to live their best lives, to grow our mind, body and souls so that way we can accomplish any and all things that we are faced with on a daily basis.  All women, regardless of age, should wake up each day and say, "I AM WORTH IT!" and BELIEVE it!
